What Is AS 4801?

AS 4801 has been the occupational health and safety (OHS) standard since 2001 in Australia & New Zealand. It has since been replaced with ISO 45001 in 2018. Although, there may still be instances where it is required. Such as, tenders being won, where a company may not have adjusted to the new ISO 45001 standard. Thus, it may still be required. So, to obtain an AS 4801 certificate for your business, give Astute a call. Still not sure whether your business needs AS 4801, click here to read more about it.

Who Needs AS 4801?

AS 4801 is required in some industries. Every company/business, no matter the size would benefit from being certified in either AS 4801 or ISO 45001. AS 4801 can be required by many industries, both legally & for customer approval. It is applicable in almost all industries: Construction, Engineering, Technology Services, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Health and more!

Why is AS 4801 So Important?

In the future, it may be a requirement to be ISO Certified in some industries, so becoming certified early can reduce headaches in the future. Surely, it is already recommended & recognized in most industries. Since AS 4801 has been replaced by ISO 45001, we can help to make sure you are compliant to the new standard. AS 4801 can also be a legal requirement. Eg, if an employee gets injured during a task that should have been OHS compliant with AS 4801 or ISO 45001, you may be liable to a fine, lawsuit or even jail time. So, if you’re in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Sunshine Coast or anywhere in between, stay ahead of the curve & make sure you are certified.
